I was really looking forward to a white christmas this year, or perhaps even a white New Year. Instead, we got was a sprinkling of snow that went away after 1/2 a day. Nevertheless, I optimistically figured that by January 7 at least there’d be a good 5-6 inches of snow. There has always been, in my memory, snow by early January. At least a good solid couple of inches that covers the brown grass and requires wearing snow boots. Now, however, I realize that climate change is really taking its toll. It’s early January, and it feels like an autumn day. Our neighbor’s grass is green. legit early fall green. It’s almost 50 degrees out- sweater weather…
I really wanted to see the snow, but I leave home soon. Maybe next year?
This has also reaffirmed by belief in global warming. While the direct evidence for global warming is certainly conflicting, it’s silly to assume that the spike in global CO2 levels since the industrial revolution has not affected the climate, and that humans are not partly responsible. Hopefully international efforts to reduce carbon emissions can make right this serious problemo.
this link provides interesting data about the relatively recent spike on CO2 levels:
